GuestA friend of mine asked me to look at two of the three chairs in his barber shop. These chairs look to be 40 to 50 years old and well used. They don’t look as ornate as some of the Koken chairs I have seen online. The two chairs are damaged where the backrest connects to the seat frame. The seat frame is made from 3/4″ sq tubing, maybe 1/16″ wt. He said that a couple of his heavier customers leaned back to hard. The bolt holes in the frame are elongated and damaged and they need to be repaired. I was hoping to find some replacement parts, or an old chair frame that he could swap out while he repaired his exisiting chairs. I can see how to fix these, but it takes a TIG welder and a partial disassembly of the upper chair. I didn’t want him to lose a seat in his place, and subsequently lose money while they were getting fixed.
