I’ve got a Koken 520B chair with a headrest, booster seat, and strop. The black leather is worn (with a couple holes). The chrome is pitted. The hydraulics and recliner work. It was used at the Varsity Barber Shop, in Sharpsville, Pennsylvania (my late father’s shop). He bought it second-hand and used it from the mid-1950s to through the 1970s.
I’m either going to restore it, or sell it as is.
I was wondering about it’s value, as well as the value of the booster seat and headrest, which are in better condition than the chair itself.
Thanks for your help.
Having trouble uploading photos.
Wayne KingGuestHi Jeffrey,
My dad had a Koken in his barber shop in the 50’s and 60’s. What if anything did you discover about the value?

Ken WoodGuestHi, I wouldn’t mind getting the cushion for the headrest from you, I have the rest of it. Interested in selling it?
Jeffrey WygantGuestI’m not sure what I’m going to do with it at this point. I’m reluctant to start selling the parts separately. Thanks for your interest, though.
LANA DENNYGuestI have a Koken 520B Barber Chair that belonged to my Grandfather who used it in his barber shop in Menard, Texas during the 50’s. Metal needs to be re-nickeled and upholstery repaired. The rest of the chair has no cracks or damage. I would like to sell to someone who would restore it. Please contact me is you are interested – would need to come to Austin, Texas to pick up.
Email me if you are interested in pictures.
