Hello, I am trying to give my grandfather a taste of his childhood and was hoping you could help me. My grandfather’s mind has been slipping but he still remembers his youth very well. He grew up helping his grandfather in his barber shop and we have one chair left from those days. I am working on restoring it because I think it might do him some good to have something around to anchor his memories during his descent into Alzheimer’s. Would you mind helping me get some basic information on how a 1929 Berninghaus Hercules barber chair would’ve been outfitted/finished? I’m sure there were many options, but information from someone as knowledgeable as this group would be very helpful in giving me some direction.
Specifically, I assume these chairs were plated but would they have been Chrome or Nickel? What would the fabric and stuffing of the cushions have comprised of?
Thank you very much for your time and help. - AuthorPosts
